KIDS STRESSLESS YOGA & BREATH SERIES

With school out it is a great opportunity for young children to learn and develop new skills. This is a 2 part program and is designed for children 6 years old & up. 

Young children can face stress in every day routine - there are so many issues that can cause stress in them such as being in quarantine, listening to issues that adults are discussing, the news and just the idea that going outside might not be safe. 

 

If these issues affect us - can you imagine how it might affect them?

This summer Arka Yoga & Art is bringing us a Stressless Therapeutic Yoga program that is designed to help reduce stress, anxiety and worries.

 

In this program children will also learn to:

-Improve attention

-Improve self-regulation

-To internalize and develop vision on

  self-knowledge

-Increase their self-esteem

-Increase their self-respect

Young children will not only have fun but they will participate in performing sensory integration exercises, games that have a mindful approach and visualizations. This is will help children connect better with themselves and their surroundings. These are constuctive tools that will help a child navigate and use in their daily life. 

Children will also learn relaxation & breathing techniques. They will learn to understand and control their emotions, learn to navigate through them in a positive manner - rather than suppressing them. 

 

Children will also learn to cultivate positive attitudes such as compassion, tolerance, group effort, good behavior, etc.

Materials for program:

 

Please make a box with the following materials to use during the program.

*A journal or notebook 

*Pencil & ruler

*Construction paper or white paper

*Markers

*Glue

*Scissors

 *Cotton balls

*Tissue paper

*Painter's tape (any color tape)

*1 small empty bottle

*1 glitter glue (any color)

Also needed:

*Yoga mat

*Yoga blocks (or books for props)

*Comfortable clothes
